Every Monday from 5pm to 7pm
The 10 week program on the Queenstown Trails is designed for new riders. Friendly and experienced coaches provide an intimidation-free atmosphere.
Group sizes are small with no more than 5 riders.
Learn and develop the basic skills to keep you safe, having fun and progress in a friendly environment and supportive atmosphere.
The classes take place in the best beginner/intermediate trail network between Queenstown Trails, Moke Lake and 7 Mile area.
Who is it for:
New riders who want to learn the best techniques to ride with more confidence and fun.
Current riders wanting to know what they should be doing to improve their skills.
Girls who are fed up with their boyfriend/husband trying to teach them.
Things you will be learning:
Bike set-up
Basic maintenance
Climbing technique on trails
Descend with confidence and control
Use your brakes with total control
Use your gear appropriately to the terrain
Ride up short, steep sections
How to roll down single trail
Slow, tight corners
Front and rear wheel control/lift
Build up your confidence, have fun, meet new friends and get pumped on mountain biking. The Queenstown MTB Academy coaches have years of experience training and teaching across Europe, North America and Oceania.
We have it cover for you to learn in an encouraging and relaxed environment.
We can provide you with a quality, full suspension rental bike and gear if required. E-bikes are also available.
What to bring:
Comfortable clothes suitable for riding, shoes with good grip for flat pedals, good quality and well looked after mountain bike, helmet and gloves. A spare tube and a pump are essential.
Don't forget your water, snacks and sunscreen.
